CITY OF GRAND RAPIDS MEMORIAL DAY PARADE AND CEREMONY presented by:
THE UNITED VETERANS COUNCIL OF KENT COUNTY
On the morning of 26 May 2025 @ 10:00 am the United Veterans Council of Kent County will conduct a parade and ceremony of remembrance to follow at Veterans Memorial Park on Fulton. This is a sponsored event by the City of Grand Rapids. The parade route starts on Lyon at Ottawa and will proceed toward Monroe turning on to Monroe Center. It will then turn south on Ottawa to Louis and proceed to Fulton and head East into Veterans Memorial Park via East Park Place (map below).
The parade will consist of groups and organizations such as American Legion, VFW, Amvets posts and many others, and will be led by the Grand Rapids Police Department’s Honor Guard. The ceremony will honor this year’s Veteran of the Year, the Gold Star Mothers and feature a keynote speaker before concluding with the playing of taps and a 3-round volley.
The council encourages the public to join us in remembering our honored dead. Each year men and women join the military and lay down their lives for this country; we take this time once a year to pay tribute to their sacrifice so that they may not be forgotten.
